Choices of Infertility Cure for Women

Infertility is a complicated issue because the problems vary from couple to couple and accordingly, the solutions vary too. A couple may fail to conceive due to a variety of causes, in which the male, female or both may be responsible for the condition. Female reproductive health plays a key role in the ability of a couple to produce healthy offspring and a variety of treatment techniques have been devised to treat infertility issues in women. Fertility specialists study the problem of the woman and suggest the right treatment as per the need and the problem.

Here are the choices of infertility cure available for women:

Fertility Medication

A number of medicines are available for diverse problems of women, acting as a barrier to pregnancy. Most of the time, medication is recommended for women combating ovulation problems in women. These medicines are clomifene, tamoxifen, metformin and gonadotrophin, all of which regulate the hormonal function and stimulate ovulation.

Fallopian Tube Surgery

Another option for creating infertility in women is fallopian tube surgery, a technique used to clear out the tubal blockage or repair the damaged tubes. It is done when the fallopian tubes are damaged or blocked with scar tissue, which is preventing the ripened egg from reaching from the uterus.

Endometrial Surgery

Endometriosis is a condition in which there is growth of endometrial tissue at places other than the inner lining of the uterus, such as in the ovaries. This condition is corrected with the help of a laparoscopic surgery for the removal of scar tissue.

Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)

Intrauterine insemination or artificial insemination is an assisted reproductive technique used for transfer of sperm directly to the uterus with the help of a plastic tube. This one is useful for women who are combating some structural problems related to the uterus or cervix, or where selective sperms have to be used for making conception possible.

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)

In Vitro Fertilization is the Assisted Reproductive Technique which involves the combining of eggs with sperms to form embryos under the lab conditions and placing the so formed embryo in the uterus of the woman for the pregnancy to continue normally. This method is again used in women with problems related to egg formation in the ovaries.

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

This infertility technique is similar to IVF, except for the fact that it uses a selective sperm to carry out fertilization and this sperm is directly injected into the egg to be fertilized under the lab conditions.

Egg Donation

When a woman is not producing eggs at all or viable eggs to make a pregnancy, egg donation comes up as a feasible fertility cure for her. Here, healthy eggs are taken from the donor and used for IVF or ICSI to maximize the success rate of these techniques.

Surrogacy

When a woman has lost her uterus or the uterus is not in a condition to bear a baby, she has to try out the treatment option called surrogacy, in which a surrogate mother is hired to carry the baby in her womb till the pregnancy is materialized.

It is the responsibility of a fertility clinic to make a comprehensive evaluation of the condition of a woman and suggest the right method of treatment for her.
