MYTH: Infertility is a woman's problem.

FACT: Most of people thing that infertility is a female problem. Its surprisinga and even really sad. Research and results says that in infertility is divided as 35-40% percent of the cases due to female factor and 35-40% percent is dues to male factor. rest 20% is due to combined problem of the couple and unexplained in 10 percent of cases. It is essential that both the man and the woman be evaluated during an infertility evaluation.

Male factors:
  • Azoospermia (no sperm cells are produced) and oligospermia (few sperm cells are produced).
  • Sometimes, sperm cells are malformed or they die before they can reach the egg.
  • Infertility in men is caused by a genetic disease such as cystic fibrosis or a chromosomal abnormality is rare.

Female infertility factor:
  • Ovulation disorders
  • Blocked fallopian tubes
  • Endometriosis (adhesions and cysts).

Birth defects like Congenital anomalies involving the structure of the uterus and uterine fibroids are associated with repeated miscarriages.

MYTH: After people adopt a baby they usually get pregnant.
FACT: Ratio of success is same and studies reveal that the rate for achieving pregnancy after adopting is the same as for those who do not adopt.

MYTH: Stress is the leading cause of infertility.
FACT: Stress can be part of problem in dealing with infertility but do not associated with it Medically. Infertility is a medical problem. At least 50 percent of those who complete an infertility evaluation respond to treatment with a successful pregnancy.


MYTH: Adoption is the only ethical and ecological solution to infertility. It is Cheap also.
FACT: Adoption is a good idea as may children do not have home and food even. But the natural urge to have children is so strong in common people that they always first seek help to have their own baby. Which is fine as it is seen that the emotions attached with own child are much stronger. Adoption is not cheap and process is too long also in most of the cases.

MYTH: Infertility leads to end of Marriage life.
FACT: NO. Now Infertility is so common and discussed among groups. Msot of couples manage the infertility crisis, as they learn to deal with it, look for cure and take intelligent decisions. Communication in couples is a major factor of the marriage life rather then Infertlity.

MYTH: People who have successfully conceived before shouldn’t have trouble with fertility later in life.
FACT: According to the National Survey of Family Growth, more than one million couples grapple with “secondary infertility.” Both partners in an existing relationship have developed fertility problems since their last child was conceived, (e.g., endometriosis – one of the most frequent causes of secondary infertility in women), irregular ovulation, or fallopian tube disease. MYTH: Infertility treatment has gotten way too high-tech.

MYTH: IVF is still risky Treatment.
FACT: In the 1980s, just 6 percent of embryos that were implanted through IVF resulted in a successful pregnancy, now almost one in five fertility treatment cycles leads to the birth of a baby. And for repeat IVF it goes more then 40%. There is no risk involve then the wait time and economics as it is still little expenssive. Mostly drugs and medicines.

MYTH: Using IVF means multiple births.
FACT: Yes some time. With multiple ambryo transfers come a heightened chance of multiple births, which dramatically increase the odds of prematurity, low birth weight, disability, and death for the infants, and risks of preeclampsia, diabetes, placental problems, caesarean section and other delivery complications for the mother. MYTH: Taking two double strength aspirin a day can help fertility.
FACT: There's no data to indicate taking two double-strength aspirin a day can help fertility; some studies suggest that it can adversely affect ovulation and the release of the egg. For women who have problems with miscarriage or have a tendency toward easy blood clotting, one baby aspirin a day can make the difference between a successful and unsuccessful pregnancy. MYTH: Women should be concerned with nutritional supplements to enhance their chances of conception.
FACT: No as infertility is related to men also so Men who take selenium (200mg/day) and zinc (50mg/day) have improved the number and quality of sperm. In addition, a low-glycemic diet for men has been demonstrated to have beneficial affects on sperm.


Myth: Normally Painful periods cause infertility.
Fact: Painful periods do not affect fertility. In fact, for most patients, regular painful periods usually signal ovulatory cycles. A progressively pain during periods, and if this is accompanied by pain during sex may mean you have endometriosis.

Myth: Infrequent periods cause infertility.
Fact: As long as the periods are regular, this means ovulation in occurring. Menstrual cycle lengths vary female to female and it goes as long as 40 days. Normal cycle is 28-30 days.
