There are so many myths floating about Infertility. Presenting the most popular myth and also the facts related to Infertility.

Myth: Infertility is all about female problems.

Fact: This stands to be untrue because when men and women both equally participate in the conception process then it cannot be possible that infertility is all about female and their problems. The surprising figure is that Infertility issues with females are only 35% and males also have 35% problems. The left percentage addresses the combined problems of the couples. 

Myth: Infertility occurs only after the age of 30.


Fact: Many people are unaware about the true fact of infertility and think it only hits after the late 30s. According to the research it can starts declining at 25s, and when the couples are unable to conceive after one year of unprotected intercourse without using contraceptives.

Myth: People with low weight, get pregnant easily.

Fact: It’s true that body fats affect the conceiving chances but if it is too low or too high then it can adversely affects the ability to conceive. So it is necessary that your body fat is within the body range for you to start a family.

Myth: Vegetarians have no problem with conception

Fact: The fact is that Pure vegetarian womens do not get adequate amount of protein or Vitamin B12, zinc, iron, and folic acid, which are very essential for conception and share the same probability of infertility with non vegetarian womens. 

Myth: People who have once become parents successfully would not have trouble in second chance.

Fact: This is most commonly known as secondary infertility, and it is not always necessary, if you once conceive naturally then you would not have trouble in second chance. Due to various reasons many couples face secondary infertility issues such as decline in the concentration or motility of sperm, quality of eggs, irregular ovulation or fallopian tube diseases. Age again plays an important factor that reduces the chances of fertility.

Myth: Stress is the main problem of infertility and people just need to relax and easily get pregnant.


Fact: Infertility is a medical problem not a psychological problem that will be solved by just relaxing.  Major studies worldwide have revealed that approx 20% women think the same but the fact is that stress can be the result from struggling infertility and its issues but not the cause of it. 

Myth: People usually get pregnant after adoption.

Fact:  Adoption is the only solution when it comes to an end of fighting infertility, but its generally not the most happy solution and according to the studies the rate for achieving pregnancy after adopting is same as for those who do not adopt.

Myth: IVF is a risky treatment 

Fact:  Around 6 to 7% embryos that were implanted through IVF resulted in successful pregnancy in 80s, but now this rate has been increased and almost one in five Fertility Treatment cycles have lead to the birth of a baby. 

Myth: Diet is more important than conception.

Fact:  It is always advisable to have proper diet and avoid sugary stuff like caffeine, white flour, white corn and white rice. This is extremely important for pregnancy and will improve ovulation and regularity. Sometimes high insulin levels may cause irregular ovulation, irregular periods or PCOS. 

Myth: Due to infertility struggles, marriages are on a decline.

Fact: Most of the couples manage to cope with Infertility crisis, understands each other, which actually improves their relationship and also helps them to become good parents in future. It also strengthens the marriage relations other than putting them on risk.
